Türkiye İş Bankası Istanbul Marathon (İstanbul, November 3)

HIS Sports is proud to announce its hosting of the 2024 Istanbul Marathon, one of the most scenic and historically rich races in the world. Scheduled to take place on November 3rd, this year's marathon will see runners from across the globe take on the iconic 42K and 15K courses that wind through some of Istanbul’s most famous landmarks.

The 42K marathon kicks off just 250 meters before the toll booths in front of the 15 July Martyrs Bridge Metrobus Station, offering runners a breathtaking start with views of the Bosphorus. After crossing the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, participants will descend onto the coastal road, passing through Beşiktaş via the Barbaros Boulevard.

Runners will then navigate through some of Istanbul's most historic sites, including the Dolmabahçe Palace and Mosque, the Galata Bridge, and the bustling streets of Sirkeci. The course then follows the coastal road, stretching from the historic heart of Istanbul to the Air Force Academy and back. After passing through the serene Gülhane Park, runners will be greeted by the grandeur of Sultanahmet Square, where the race culminates at the historic At Meydanı (Hippodrome), nestled between the Blue Mosque and the ancient Obelisk.

For those opting for a shorter challenge, the 15K race offers a similar, albeit condensed, experience. Starting just behind the marathon runners at the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, participants will follow the same course down Barbaros Boulevard and along the coastal road through Beşiktaş to Karaköy. After crossing the Galata Bridge and heading towards Sirkeci, the race concludes along the Yenikapı Coast, providing a picturesque finish with the Sea of Marmara as the backdrop.

29 Ekim Cumhuriyet Run/29th of October Republic Day Run (November 3, Antalya)

Antalya will host the 29 Ekim Cumhuriyet Run on November 3, 2024, offering runners a thrilling challenge along a scenic and demanding route. The race celebrates Turkey’s Republic Day with a unique course starting from Tünektepe Sarısu, at sea level, and rising to 605 meters at the Tünektepe Social Facilities, before descending back to the starting point.

Participants will traverse a variety of terrains, including rocky paths, forest trails, dirt roads, and stabilized tracks. Out of the total 21 kilometers, 19 kilometers consist of rugged trails, dirt roads, and gravel paths, while the remaining 2 kilometers are paved asphalt. Throughout the race, the route will be marked with reflective strips and other indicators to guide runners, with strict rules in place: deviating from the marked course or taking shortcuts will result in disqualification.

The run features two key checkpoints—one at the 7.5-kilometer point near Onobara, and the second at Sarısu, where the race circles back before ascending the steep cable car service road to Tünektepe’s highest point.

The 29 Ekim Cumhuriyet Run not only offers a physically demanding course but also provides participants with breathtaking views and a chance to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Antalya. This race is a celebration of both endurance and the spirit of the Turkish Republic, inviting runners to honor the values of perseverance and unity.

30th Ata to Ana Respect Run (November 12, Izmir)

Izmir will host the 30th edition of the Ata to Ana Respect Run on November 12, 2024, starting at 09:00. This significant event has been a cherished tradition for three decades, honoring the enduring legacy of respect and remembrance.

The run, which kicks off from Ata to Ana, embodies a profound sense of tribute, reflecting the community's deep respect for historical and cultural figures. Over the years, it has become a symbol of unity and commemoration, bringing together participants from various backgrounds to celebrate and remember.

As the event marks its 30th year, it promises to be a poignant and memorable occasion, continuing its tradition of honoring important legacies while fostering a sense of community and respect.

Sagalassos Sky Ultra (November 6-11, 2024, Burdur)

Burdur, a picturesque Mediterranean city known for its ancient ruins and breathtaking lakes, will host the Sagalassos Sky Ultra from November 6-11, 2024. This exciting event will unfold in the historic town of Ağlasun, with the magnificent Sagalassos Ancient City serving as both the starting and finishing point for the race.

Participants will embark on a 4.2 km course that weaves through the stunning landscapes surrounding Sagalassos. The route, designed to challenge runners with steep climbs and scenic mountain peaks, highlights both the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region. Along the way, athletes will encounter awe-inspiring views and the rich history of the ancient Pisidian capital, making this race an unforgettable blend of sport and exploration.

In a historic first, the Sagalassos Sky Ultra will be part of the prestigious Skyrunner World Series (SWS) in 2024, marking Turkey’s debut in one of the most technically demanding race circuits worldwide. The event will attract elite international athletes, who will compete alongside local talent for top honors in this globally renowned trail running series.

With its combination of challenging terrain, rich history, and breathtaking scenery, the Sagalassos Sky Ultra promises a unique adventure for athletes and spectators alike. Varda Ultra Trail (November 9, Adana)

The Varda Ultra Trail 2024 is set for November 9, 2024, offering an unforgettable trail running experience through Adana’s stunning landscapes. Runners will explore historic and natural sites like the Toros Mountains, Çakıt Valley, Varda Bridge, and Kapıkaya Canyon, with three race options: 14K, 27K, and a challenging 67K Ultra Marathon. The routes, which are primarily trail-based with river crossings and bridge passages, offer breathtaking views and an exhilarating challenge for runners of all levels.
