European Athletics Indoor Championships
The European Athletic Association hosts the biannual indoor track and field tournament known as the European Athletics Indoor Championships for competitors from around Europe. The event replaced the European Indoor Games, which had begun in 1966, and was staged for the first time in 1970. The championships were first held annually until switching to its present biannual format in 1990. After the 2002 edition, there was a 3-year break to align the competition with the other important international athletics championships. Each time, a new European city serves as the event's host. The competition will be held in Istanbul from 2–5 March 2023 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena.
